Chain Guardians, an upcoming blockchain game with both mining and rock/paper/scissors type game play, has released the initial version of its mining game.

Currently I would describe it as an alpha version since they are actively working on developing it and there is the possibility of reward wiping.

In order to play, you need to register with Safe Name and then register with Chain Guardians itself

Once you’ve registered, you simply need to visit the site daily and submit your mining team of up to 9 NFTs. These NFTs can come from Chain Guardians itself (and will have the best rates) or any of their partner games.

Each NFT has its own hash rate based on rarity and power. The values are currently expected to change fairly substantially, so you shouldn’t make any new purchases based on them yet. The developers will base the values on community feedback as well as directly working with other game developers.

Then, like real mining, one of the people who participated in each block will receive the 25 CGC prize. The higher your hash rate the more likely you will win, though it is random so everyone has a chance. You can tell whether or not you won at a glance by clicking the participation tab. If you won the block will appear blue. You can also see a detailed breakdown of each roll in the Block History tab by clicking on any block.

The devs are very attentive and have already fixed several issues found by the community. They also are continuing development of the rock/paper/scissors type game as well. You can participate in the mining game without any Chain Guardians NFTs, though the upcoming rock/paper/scissors game will require owning at least one.

If you are interested in picking up your own Guardians, follow my referral link (which gives me a percent of all purchases) to opensea to see what is available. You can find the #1 mints of each Guardian as well as several copies of the newest Guardian Mudra (0.7 ETH).

I look forward to seeing you in the Block History!

I published an earlier version of this to the now defunct narrative.org blogging site in November 2019. Due to its popularity I have slightly updated it and republished it here.
