For the forth post in my Meet the Chain Guardians series I’ll be introducing my personal favorite, Dasha Locks. If you haven’t seen my other posts yet, and are confused as to what Chain Guardians is, here is a quick summary.

Chain Guardians is an upcoming anime and cryptocurrency/blockchain inspired turn based strategy game. Though it is a crypto inspired game, for the most part it looks and plays like a traditional game.

As she is completely my type, I could easily gush over her, but I’ll keep it professional, after all, she has a very strong corporate vibe about her (especially her alternate art).

Whereas the Captain is mysterious due to lack of information, Dasha is a mystery as part of her backstory. Her page on the official site phrases it best by calling her an “ominous presence” and revealing that her motive is not always clear. Not only that, but the Devs went so far as to create an “Evil Dasha” emoji on the discord channel.

As the guardian of Planet Darkcoin (rebranded to Dash), I wouldn’t put it past Dasha to embrace the dark side and use the Gatekeepers to advance her own goals. Of course that the raises the question of what sort of Faustian deal she made in exchange for power, and what is her goal? For now only the Devs know, all we can do is wait for more lore.

I have one additional teaser from the discord channel. I had a chat with Robbeh, one of the Devs, and this particular exchange stood out.

From a gameplay perspective, we know very little at this point. Dasha’s two elements are light (primary) and earth. Having 89/100 power, she is the third most powerful and rare guardian. I haven’t seen her in the alpha yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she was the end boss for planet Bitcoin.

Is she a hero or a villain in disguise? What are her goals? I can’t wait to learn more and to see her in battle!
