This article discusses past MLBC giveaways and freebies. To my knowledge, aside from the new player bonus, there are no active giveaways.

Now that MLBC20 has been available for about a month and a half, and released the market update on iOS, I figured it would be helpful to summarize the promotions they’ve had so far. This way you can be a little smarter when making market purchases in the app for diamonds/caps or through opensea or cryptoslam for ETH.
Tutorial
When I last went through the tutorial, I was granted 250 Diamonds (25 of which had to be spent to complete the tutorial). On completion I was granted an extra 500 Diamonds. This is likely to change in the future to discourage botting and other exploits.

Launch Special
If you began playing between March 26th and 29th you were given one common (red) pro figure for all teams. Commons can normally be gotten for 900 caps each so this was a nice starting bonus but negligible impact on the economy.

Nationals Week
Between March 30th and April 5th there was a Nationals themed daily login bonus. If you logged in six times you would receive:
- 3 boost tickets
- 400 caps
- 6 standard Nationals figures
- 5 additional boost tickets
- 25 diamonds
- 1 uncommon (green) pro Strasburg figure
Nothing terribly exciting in this collection, but you should be aware there are a lot of Strasburg figures available so don’t overpay!

Angels Week
Between April 6th and April 12th there was an Angels themed daily login bonus. This was basically the same as Nationals week for rewards and granted you a Trout at the end of the week.
- 3 boost tickets
- 400 caps
- 6 standard Angels figures
- 5 additional boost tickets
- 25 diamonds
- 1 uncommon (green) pro Trout figure
The same warning about Strasburg applies to Trout. There are a large number of uncommon Trout figures available. Don’t overpay for uncommon figures.

Spectacular Silver
On April 13th we were given an impressive freebie of 2500 caps, 10 boost tickets, 1 silver base pro figures, and 4 other pro figures. Unfortunately EVERYONE was given the exact same figures. It is unknown whether or not it was a glitch or deliberate, but the fact of the matter is a lot of these figures were generated.

Golden Day
On April 15th we were given another promising pack. The breakdown was essentially the same as Spectacular Silver, 2500 caps, 10 boost tickets, a guaranteed gold base and 4 other figures, but again everyone was given the same figures.

Getting Hot in Here!
The “samefest” continued on April 16th with the “Getting Hot in Here” pack. Everyone received the same caps and boost tickets as in the previous giveaways. They also received the same five players.

Fireworks Spectacular
The “samefest” finally ended on April 17th with a fireworks based Devers and four other figures. So far this has been the ONLY chance to get a fireworks base in 2020 though we are likely to see more after the 4th of July.

The fireworks bases are among my favorites. I hope they release a new version this summer, but if they don’t, I strong suggest grabbing up any 2020 Devers fireworks base you see and rerolling them for other players.

Week of April 18th Login Rewards
On the 18th we had similar rewards to the Angels and Nationals weeks. This time you received generic rewards though.
- 1000 caps
- 5 boost tickets
- 2500 caps
- 10 additional boost tickets
- 5000 caps
- 500 diamonds
This was a particularly generous week giving out 8500 caps and 500 diamonds. This was also the last batch of login freebies as they transitioned to cap paid daily quests. It seems pretty obvious they realized people were abusing multiple accounts and cut back because of it.
Weekly Leaderboard Rewards
I will discuss this in more depth in a future article, but your performance each week would give fairly generous rewards depending on your division. You could receive varying amounts of Diamonds, Boost Tickets, and figures depending on your rank.
- The top 1000 players in S Division would receive a Lava Base / Ultra Rare gear figure and a random Rare Pro Figure.
- The top 30 players in A Division would receive a Gold Base / Ultra Rare gear figure and a random Rare Pro Figure.
- The top 10 players in B Division would receive a Silver Base / Ultra Rare gear figure.
This means that despite Lava Bases being Epic (yellow) rarity, they are actually pretty common. Overtime the quantity will hopefully reduce, but keep it in mind when making purchases. Additionally you could receive prizes from each division, so every Friday every player received a decent sized windfall.
Upcoming Freebies
At this point we don’t know what to expect for upcoming freebies. They seem to have largely tapered off in favor caps paid items. They have also made a major change to the leaderboard rewards starting in May. While I expect we will get free diamonds again in the future, I expect it will be after they fortify the game against bots a bit more and probably require more effort to get.
As always, thanks for taking the time to read this! Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
