The Order Season Two Prediction Comparison

After a year long wait, season two of The Order season has arrived on Netflix. Back in April of last year I came up with ten predictions on how they would continue the series after the memory wipe cliffhanger. You can view that post here. Now I finally get to see how close I was.

The Season Two Beginning

Season two begins by reintroducing us to the Knights. The Grand Magus had determined that they were too valuable a resource to simply discard, but too dangerous to leave uncontrolled. To that intent, she decided to erase their memories of The Order and the Knights. Unfortunately their wolves want them to remember so the enchantment does not last very long and The Grand Magus was forced to assign each Knight a handler who could re-erase their memory at a moment’s notice. Add a murderous rogue magician into the mix and The Order has its hands full. Eventually Alyssa secretly returns their memories and the Knights are inducted into The Order.

My Predictions

While I go into more details in my previous post, here are my ten predictions for how the season would begin.

  1. Lilith remembers
  2. Werewolf attacks
  3. The Necromancer’s Revenge
  4. New Focus
  5. Random Memory Recovery
  6. Planned Memory Recovery
  7. New Werewolf
  8. The Order Needs Their Help
  9. Re-Recruitment
  10. The Golem

How’d I do?

I definitely touched on some of the points with my predictions, but others were way off.

  1. WRONG. I was really hoping that Lilith having her memory restored previously would protect her and allow her character to shine as something more than a “Killith”. I am pleased that her new love interested allowed the character to evolve though.
  2. PARTIALLY CORRECT. While the wolves did attempt to shift when they sensed evil magic, The Order was prepared for this. Still there was one killing and it played a major role in their memory recovery.
  3. WRONG. Though we were left with a few loose ends related to The Necromancer, they did not come into play. There is a chance they will be referenced later in the season, but it is more likely they will be forgotten.
  4. WRONG. Thankfully the series did not take an anthology approach and instead continued the story.
  5. PARTIALLY CORRECT. Their memories were coming back on their own, though not for the reasons I predicted. Ancestral Knowledge did play a role in the story, but also not for the reasons I predicted.
  6. PARTIALLY CORRECT. Once they regained their memories, the Knights learned from their mistakes and protected themselves for the future.
  7. PARTIALLY CORRECT. The Order tried to make new werewolves. It didn’t end well.
  8. CORRECT. Alyssa restored their memories to help The Order.
  9. CORRECT. The Grand Magus’s goal was to recruit all the Knights and use them as tools.
  10. WRONG. I didn’t really expect the golem would play a role, but I wanted a tenth prediction so I listed it anyway. Clay is presumably gone forever.

I think I did reasonably well in my predictions. I also think the writer’s made a reasonable transition into season two. They did go a little heavy on the relationship drama, but that’s standard for the genre. The wolves fighting for dominance was an interesting addition that I didn’t see coming.

I look forward to finishing the season. How about you? What do you think of the start of the season?
